  Professor Dr. Zhao Zhenxia

Focusing on the important national needs of atmospheric environment management, three aspects of MOFs hydrophobic surface modification, react-adsorption collaborative surface construction, and high thermal conductivity MOFs molding have been carried out. Published 85 papers in Angew.chem.in.ed., Chem.Eng.J., Appl.Catal. B-Environ and other high level journals in the field, of which 58 papers were published as the first or corresponding author in Area I and top journals in the field. Published 8 papers in Chinese core journals such as Chemical Journal; Part of the research results have cooperated with enterprises and carried out technical research in related fields, and applied for and authorized 30 national patents. In 2021, he was selected as the leading talent of the National Major Talent Project, and in 2022, he won the first Outstanding Contribution Award of Youth Science and Technology of Guangxi Autonomous Region and the 18th Youth Science Award of Colleges and Universities of Fok Yingdong Education Foundation.

Professor Dr. Mohamed Kheireddine Aroua

Professor Mohamed Kheireddine Aroua completed his PhD in 1992 at the University of Nancy 1, France. He worked at University of Malaya for 23 years before joining Sunway University in 2017. His research addresses the fundamental and technical issues related to water, energy and environment. He is interested in developing green solvents, sorbents and processes for CO2 capture and utilisation; treatment of water and wastewater using novel adsorbents and advanced electrochemical processes; production of biodiesel and transformation of its by-products to value-added chemicals; and providing safe water to communities in remote areas through the application of membrane technology. He has supervised to completion 35 PhD and 25 Master’s students. His research has generated more than 250 articles in ISI-ranked journals and over 22,000 citations, and his h-index is 73 according to Google Scholar database. He was listed by Clarivate Analytics as top 1% highly cited researcher in 2018 and 2019. He is also recognized in Stanford University list as top 2% world scientist for career long as well as single year impacts in 2019,2020, 2021, and 2022.

In 2018 he was the recipient of the IChemE Global Award in Water Category. Recently his water project won the 1st Place in the Innovative R&D Award (International Institutions award) at the 3rd Cycle of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award.

Keynote Abstract


Dr. Indran Suyambulingam

Dr. Indran Suyambulingam is currently working as a Research Scientist at Natural Composites Research Group Lab, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Thailand. Recognized as the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University and as Highly Cited Scientists 2022 (top 234th rank in Thailand and top 20th rank under Materials Category in Thailand).
Dr. Indran received B.E. in Mechanical Engineering in 2009 from St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering, Chunkankadai, Nagercoil, which is affiliated with Anna University, Chennai, India. He completed M.E. Engineering Design from Park College of Engineering and Technology, Kaniyur, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, and was honored with a Gold Medal by Anna University in 2011. He finished his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Anna University, Chennai, in 2015 and was awarded INSPIRE fellowship by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India (DST), for pursuing his research work. After completing Ph.D., he joined as Associate Professor and Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Rohini College of Engineering & Technology, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, and served there until December 2021. He is a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and an Associate Member of the International Association of Engineers (IAENG). He serves as a Member of the Indian Society of Mechanical Engineers (ISME) and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), India. He is the recipient of the Innovative Technological Research & Dedicated Teaching Professional Award from JETR Convention on Innovative Technological Scientific Research Strategies in Science, Engineering and Medical Technology organized by Innovative Scientific Research Professional Malaysia (ISRPM), held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 2017. He got selected as a Young Scientist and participated in the training program sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Govt. of India, and Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology, Govt. of Tamil Nadu. He is a reviewer for more than 40 international journals and has published more than 70 articles in high-quality international peer-reviewed SCI and Scopus Indexed journals, and 11 book chapters. He has presented more than 40 research articles at national and international conferences. He has filed one Indian patent in the area of polymer composites research. His research interests include Prosthetics Development, Biomaterials, Nanocomposites, Material Characterization, Tribology, Agro-Waste Utilization, and Characterization of Natural Fibers and their Composites.

Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr.-Ing. Joewono Prasetijo

Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr.-Ing. Joewono Prasetijo is affiliated with Industry Centre of Excellence for Railway (ICoE-REL), Department of Transportation Engineering Technology, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). He completed his Diploma Postgraduate and Master of Science in Road and Transportation Engineering at IHE – Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands. Then, he was a Research Fellow at Transportation Engineering, Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan. He completed his PhD (Doktor-Ingenieur (Dr.-Ing.)) in Traffic and Transportation Engineering at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany. He has contributed immensely in Transportation sector development in Malaysia. He was the Chairman for Working Group on Concrete Sleepers and Bearers, Malaysia Railway Industry Standard (MRIS), SIRIM Berhad. Currently, he is serving as a member in Committee of Expert Working Group of Public Transport – Road Congestion (EWGPTC), Ministry of Transport Malaysia and Technical Committee on Malaysia Railway Industry Standard (MRIS), SIRIM Berhad. He is an Engineering Technologist registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia and a Certified Trainer of Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF).
